A cry is not always “good.” Although many report on having a good cry, some cry endlessly without a sense of relief afterwards and does not feel any better at all. Some might reason that crying will not change anything that is why they do not expect to feel better afterwards. On the other hand, some people say that crying is good to be forced to analyzed one’s situation and confront the predicament. Through a good cry, one’s self-awareness is increased, and self-acceptance and openness to the experience closely follows. In order to achieve this, a person must stop obsessively repeating in their memory the distressing times that made them cry without planning a way to fix their situation.
Laughing and crying are both medicines to the body. Doing them for the reasons that rightly serve us will greatly help in facing the things that we encounter in our daily life. So, laugh till the tears fall, and cry till it hurts no more.
